BCBG Max Azria Fall/Winter 2013/2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City

BCBG Max Azria was held in the theater at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which is officially the hardest venue to shoot in when they split the runway in two so that people can sit in the middle of the runway.  The collection was all about the peek-a-boo effect.  Dresses and skirts with super high slits that were only observable when the model was taking long strides revealed thigh high leather leg warmers.  The peek-a-boo effect was also used with in conjunction with what appeared to be intricate laser cutouts in the outfits made from leather.  My favorite looks in the collection were the ones that used the more flowing fabrics.  I love seeing the beautiful movement of a garment when a woman walks in it, like old-Hollywood glamour inspired wedding dresses.  My take aways from this show is that dresses aren’t just for summer.  Even when it’s cold outside you can always add a pair of leggings underneath, or a pair of leather leg warmers if you happen to have those lying around your house.
