Our Retouching Philosophy
At Vail Fucci Photography we strive to get the image as perfect as possible right when we are taking the images through posing advice, expression coaching, and attention to details. But every image can benefit from a little retouching. Some people want more retouching, others want less. Skin should look like skin, not plastic. At the end of the day the image should still look like you on your best day. We offer 3 levels of retouching for your headshot booth or company shoot: Auto Basic, Auto Advanced, and Pro Edit.
Auto Basic
With auto basic retouching the image is retouched automatically as soon as it reaches the subject’s online gallery. A subtle amount of blemish removal, skin smoothing, under eye circle removal, and teeth whitening are applied. A subtle amount of saturation and contrast are applied. This level of retouching is included for free.
Auto Advanced
With auto advanced retouching the image is retouched automatically prior to reaching the subject’s online gallery. Advanced blemish removal removes all pimples but retains freckles and skin texture, glasses glare is removed, under eye dark circles and wrinkles are decreased, smile lines are lightened, double chin appearance is diminished, skin tone is evened out, flyaway hairs are removed, face shine is lessened, teeth are whitened, clothing wrinkles are diminished, eyes are brightened. To have auto advance retouching applied to all images from shoot it is $2000 for 8 hour day sessions and $1000 for 4 hour day sessions. Auto advanced retouching can also be made available for $50 per individual image.
Pro Edit
With pro edit retouching images are retouched professionally by Vail Fucci after the shoot has been concluded. Every detail is attended to. Subjects can make specific retouching requests. Everything that is included in Auto Advanced is included as well as much more. Eye size can be matched. Eyebrows can be filled in. Shirt necklines can be raised. Hair can be digitally styled. Red, ruddy, or blotchy skin can be evened out. Crooked smiles, mismatched teeth, and missing teeth can be fixed. Face and/or body can be thinned. Scars can be removed. Facial expression can be adjusted. If you can think of it, we can likely do it. Vail offers advice on what is and is not a good idea to change for professional image use. $250 per individual image.
