Beth and Bryan were referred to me by Mariann and Mike, so I knew it would be a super fun shoot. The two work close by to the beautiful Boston Public Gardens so it was the perfect spot for their engagement shoot. Beth wore a variety of adorable brightly colored outfits. She and Bryan laid them out in advance at home so they would coordinate well…but not TOO well. Wearing the same color can cause you to look attached at the hip…and not in a good way. Beth also made sure to wear jewelry that Bryan gave her to make the photos even more special. During the shoot Bryan discovered his inner Rico Suave. Engagement sessions are great for getting to play around with different smiles and poses in advance of the wedding day. As much as I tried to get Bryan to keep that little smirk of a smile, as soon as he’d look at Beth his big grin would make an appearance. I can only imagine how big his smile will be on the day of their wedding. The adorable pair ended their shoot donning their favorite Boston jerseys. I can’t wait to see if they will incorporate some other Boston flair into their wedding day.
Like the feeling of these shots? The nice soft light was created by doing the shoot at 8am. The light is best this time of year for shoots around 8am and 6pm. When doing shots at this time of day the great light doesn’t last very long, so be sure to get to your shoots right on time and be prepared, just like Beth and Bryan did.
