When it came to picking a location for their engagement shoot Lauren and Sunmin were adamant it be in the Boston Public Gardens. I said, “Are you sure you don’t want to do the shoot on the Boston University campus where you met?” They said, “Nope, we’re sure.” Upon arriving for the shoot they told me the story of Romeo and Juliet, the pair of swans who have mated for life that call the Gardens home. It turns out naming them Romi and Juliet would be more appropriate as they are both female. The swans are a wonderful symbol of Massachusetts support of same-sex couples and that is why Lauren and Sunmin picked this beautiful spot. It was plain to see to everyone in the park that day that Lauren and Sunmin are as perfectly matched for each other as Romi and Juliet.
