Herve Leger is known for its body conscious bandage style dresses that are made up of strips of fabric that contour to the wearer’s body. This season many of the looks departed from the brand standard. While each piece involved the use of lines to form structure, some of the looks looks did not include the traditional bandage material at all, and others included A-line shaped dresses. Some of the dresses were accessorized in leather harnesses making the looks much more edgy. I was particularly surprised to see slouchy trousers and baseball hats included in the collection. While many found these changes an excellent choice to make the brand more cool, young and relevant, I still loved the traditional bandage dresses the best. My favorite was an embellished off white dress made with the bandage strips which made up the body of the dress as well as a fantastic collar that created a keyhole effect and a regal looking neck. I could easily see how this look could be translated into a full wedding dress.
